252.0 Release
CloudConnect 252.0 is the first release for Ansys 2025 R2.
Queue for Ansys License on Rescale Node
User Feedback
We only have a few Ansys licenses so sometimes the license can be checked out by another user in the time it takes for the solver to start after the job is launched from the Rescale license queue. I have to manually check the reason for a failed job and resubmit it.
Resolution
CloudConnect now retries to start the solver after it exits due to a license error. The default retry time window can be adjusted by the user.
Impact
Fewer job resubmissions due to temporarily missing license.
Support Combined Structural Restart Files
User Feedback
We sometimes run the prestress analyses with different amounts of cores to better scale each analysis in the chain.
Resolution
CloudConnect now enables running Rescale jobs from combined restart files and the combined restart files are returned from jobs. When Analysis Settings → Restart Controls → Combine Retart Files is set to Yes or Program Controlled. When using Program Controlled the distributed restart files are also returned.
Impact
Better scaling and improved resource usage with the ability to run different steps with different amounts of cores.
Note: Combining restart files requires signigicant processing time if there is a large number of restart files to combine.
