Background

• Performing large deformation (buckling) analysis with imperfections in Workbench is limited to linking one deformed result from the “Solution” cell to the “Model” cell. This will break the link for Geometry and Model as well as for contacts and remote points etc.

Solution

• The Initial Deformation app allows you to update the shared model mesh to include a scaled deformation pattern from one or a combination of connected systems prior to solve.

• The scaling factors of the individual results are automatically calculated based on the given weighting factor and maximum initial deformation value.
